WHAT WE OFFER:

We accept youth from ages 5-18, supplying each with tools necessary to be successful during and beyond high school.  Beyond learning and participating in filmmaking, some support includes:  Tutoring, Mentoring from Industry Professionals, Field Trips, Yearly Recognition Event, Graduation Awards, Gifts & Prizes, College Prep Assistance, Prom Giveaway, Providing College Freshman Starter Packs and more. Filmmaking is one of the very few careers that spans all across the core subjects of Math, English, Science & Social Studies.

Supporting youth by providing them with skills to help them advance in school and to introduce them to techniques they can take with them as they prosper in their professional careers in Film, Entertainment & Media Arts.

The Detroit Film Kids see ourselves bridging the between the youth and programs that help them to discover talents that lead them on a journey towards profitable and enjoyable careers.  We see youth discovering who they are in a safe environment.  Youth will experience possibilities that they otherwise would not have had access to.  We will buildcommunities that are full of diverse, encouraged and excited youth about learning.  We see a future full of successful young adults in Film, Entertainment & Media Arts!
